What are lifting door systems?

Lifting door systems are the most sophisticated mechanisms available today that enable us to optimise the space available in any room.

They ensure maximum security and ease of opening for any door, avoiding unnecessary knocks that break the hinges or damage the furniture in which they are included.

Advantages of lifting door systems

The main advantages of lifting door systems are that they are lightweight and therefore enable the door to be handled with minimum effort, both when opening and closing. In addition, these lifting door systems are characterised by their easy assembly and the wide range of possible designs and applications, since the doors do not open in the traditional way.

In addition, they provide smooth and quiet handling, as well as the possibility of setting multiple opening positions.

Of course, as we have already said, they are much more gentle on all the furniture fittings in general, as they avoid unnecessary knocks and therefore extend the life of both the set and the accessories themselves.

Types of lifting door system

A wide variety of lifting door systems are currently available. From those designed to lift and hold small doors, ideal for materials made of wood, glass or with an aluminium frame.

Lifting and folding doors, designed for places where there is not much space at the top of the furniture and, therefore, opening a door would be an inconvenience. With these, the moving lid, which is divided into two parts, folds up on itself, thus saving a lot of space.

There are also diagonally lifting systems that, when opened, make a subtle diagonal movement, thus providing a complete view of the interior.

Or the parallel lifting systems, ideal for large modules, which provide a complete view of the interior and have a multi-position function.

Fittings for lifting and folding doors

For all the types we have mentioned above, there are different fittings for lifting and folding doors. The most common are;

  • AGILE compass Smooth and precise operation, no hinges are required for its assembly. With a simple clip system, no tools are required for assembly and disassembly. Applicable in kitchens and homes, they are ideal for any space.

In addition, these mechanisms have different force ranges to support different sizes and weights. The kit includes the trims and the hooks and screws required to assemble the Agile system.

–   Gas-operated. Press on them briefly to open the door smoothly. In this group there are two different types; those designed for lifting doors, more common in kitchen wall units. Or for folding doors, in which case the fitting exerts a slight pressure to hold the door in place.

Gas-operated systems are easy to install and can be placed on either the right-hand or left-hand side of the furniture. Furthermore, depending on their positioning, they allow for various opening angles and brakes can be fitted to prevent knocks or even a “push to open” mechanism, without handles.

–    Spring-operated. These systems have a central spring thatregulates resistance according to the weight of the door. In addition, they usually have a built-in brake that enables the opening angle to be blocked depending on the needs of each particular case. It should be noted that this system is becoming increasingly more obsolete, due to other much more innovative systems that have appeared.

–    Classic fittings for folding doors. These are the simplest and most economical. They may come with or without brakes, and are articulated metal pieces that do not require a very complicated opening and fastening system.

At Emuca we offer you a wide variety of lifting door systems from which you can choose the one that best adapts to the needs of each specific project. The result, thanks to the quality and innovation with which all our products are designed, will facilitate your work at the customer’s home. ¡Check out our website and create a wonderful ambience!
